Back in Byron

On Tuesdays, I came to Byron Bay to hang out with Sofie one last day before we say goodbye for a long time. It felt strange to leave the Spot X bubble but glad to come to Byron again for 2 nights😍 So immediately when I arrived I was just so tired after having a last party at the camp. But despite to little sleep, we rented Surf board directly and today we tested Hardboard for the first time🏄 

Before we have surfed on Foamboard and they floats better, easier to keep the balance and just good for beginners. So today we wanted to test Hardboard which is the next step after beginners. And there are so many different variants long, narrow, short, pointed mm. But we took a little longer variant because they are easier than the shorter. 

Towards the waves🌊 It actually went better than expected considering the circumstances. Which was basically 0 power in the waves and very flat. So hard to find good waves and get to the timing. But two waves where I actually managed to surf for a few seconds before you fall hahaah! 😂 Something really cool was also that we drove to a distance from our first positions. Then we came across masses of stones at the bottom, so decided to paddle in and get up again. But just before, I'm on my board and paddle and see a little swim at me (looks like a rock). First afraid before I saw it was a big turtle swimming 1m away from me !!!!! 😍 Calls  directly on Sofie just behind me and wow! It was so close to us and you could see the whole body, so awesome animals! 🐢 Then we continued for a while with Surfing! 

Then we met the Finnish girls as we got to know the camp that was still in Byron After lunch there was surfing again but the waves were still flat and broke well near shallow water. So we decided to buy ice cream instead In the evening we went out with Roy, Alli and Jutta and had a fun evening!😃🎉 The day after (Wednesday) it was time to say goodbye to Sofie😞 Very sad because we have become so good friends and boring to go separate ways. But see you again in 3 months in Asia! After saying goodbye, I went to the beach. But decided to take a walk before I'd go down to just chill. So I walked about half the beach maybe? A 40min walk one way and then I arrived at The Pass. Located at one end of the beach and here are many surfers hanging because it's usually good waves here🌊 

Here is a lookout point from above, and all people in the water are surfers So very many surf here despite a day like this when there are very small waves and little power in them.
